Why build a trailer...

Made a pretty slick hydraulic loader for the Scout. Loads effortlessly, just a few more fitting details to work out. Based on a Hydraulic Sled Deck. Used a hitch mount support to carry the weight in order to keep the CG slightly forward.

That's very neat! Do you have a video anywhere of this in operation? What do you use to drive the linkage?

Do you have tail lights or a red flag on the craft?
If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Will post link details later.
You don't need exterior lights as they are clearly visible and not obsructed

You do in most states if you don't want a ticket.
If it aint broke, don't fix it.

I've been modifying it a little so I will post the final product.
It does hang out a little more than 4 feet so a cheap Walmart trailer kit zip tied to the cage would work. From AK haul road experience I would go wireless, as wires, even in conduit, stand no chance at times.
My version has no load deck so its restricted to smaller 12 foot stuff which has a cg a little aft of the tailgate of a 3/4 ton 8 foot bed or better truck. I don't see how you couldn't load some bigger craft backwards onto a deck and pull it up with an arm system similar to this. Lots of snowmobile loaders similar to this online.
