Re: Timothy Heilig's Surveyor Rebuild

Well I am getting a lot closer, man the Skirt really is the hardest part to do. My hull is about 120 lbs over weight, I guess from all the wood in it. and it is no easy job to turn on it's side or to flip over. But by using my home made engine hoist and a Harbor freight engine lift, I was able to ge...

Re: Timothy Heilig's Surveyor Rebuild

John Carter is going to help me with the Skirt and then I need to get it licensed and I will be ready to test her out. this thing has been a bigger project then ever expected. I just hop...

Re: prop guards

This is my cage 3/4 E.M.T., John Carter welded it for me after I bent it and coupled it together with E.M.T. couplers. I think it is going to work out pretty good.

Re: Central Florida Cruise

If we get the Skirt on and it runs right, we sure plan to have the Water hazzard at next years hover-in.

it's been a long hard job, this old beast needed a lot of TLC. but I think very soon we may just have a useable Hovercraft.

Re: Timothy Heilig's Surveyor Rebuild

thanks, yes Al has been helping me alot giving me pointer, i think it is starting to sink in on how it goes together. to be honest I don't think the guy that first built my craft made it right to begin with. he said it would not go over 12 to 15 m.p.h. from a distance my hull don't look bad, but tru...

Re: Timothy Heilig's Surveyor Rebuild

Well it's slowly getting closer. sanded it down and have 2 coats of primer on it. it still looks pretty crappy as the glass work on this thing sucks. but hopefully it's going to fly ok when done. my next step is the Skirt, got the precut skirt kit, but my plans I have are so incomplete, that I have l...

Re: Central Florida Cruise

went to the Hover-in, took my hull to get help with my skirt, but everyone got tied up working on a UH-13... :( It was a good test for my custom trailer I am building for the sev. My poor sev was crying on the way home, it really wanted to show off it's new skirt. Anyway, I was looking forward to se...
