Skirt trim problem?

Post by Aaron Derhull »

Hello everybody, First off thanks for this valuable resource & thanks to everone that contributes. I built a scout this past summer and have been having a blast with it. I'm getting a fair bit of spray over the bow when heading downwind/slight chop. I will be installing a high windshield for the winter use anyhow but just curious if this is normal when heading downwind or in chop? Or is this likely a partition or bow skirt trim problem? Thanks

Some additional spray or drops downwind is normal, but varies with skirt trim. I have found that old, stiff and patched bow skirts throw droplets much more. Pictures in flight would help, but you may just need to experiment. Higher base loading increases these problems.
