Hi all . It has been a long time but I brought the surveyor out the shed and back into the garage. Time to get it finished. I am also planning to make it a twin engine. Beezer do you have any pictures and suggestions on your set up? I wont be doing much this week on it. The day time highs are to be minus 30C and minus 39c at night without the wind chill. Even with a nice infloor heated garage it gets cold.

well... if its not too late, build the upscale version, like 15x 7.5. if this is your first one, mostly just follow the plans and it will work. I say that because when you change one thing it affects another, and that can be time consuming straightening out problems you created. otherwise, when in doubt, build it stout, especially the drive parts. I know that is counter to the rules but I go places you can't walk out of, and nobody is coming to the rescue. as for my switch to 2 engines from the single... as I said a while back, I built the hull to the 2 engine configuration so all I have to do is finish the build I don't worry about every gram of weight, I need reliability. if you have the money, seriously consider a Hypalon skirt, should last 2-3 times what the vinyl does. I'm on my 2nd skirt on this craft and it is getting serious repairs. I expect another easily 4-5 years service until it needs another complete skirt. I may be too old to fart with it by then, who knows. on the motor mount/prop drive, my new one is mostly complete but I am still fooling with it... things are very tight. the 4" minimum prop clearance is very important so that the blades can't hit the stand. the center of the blade Butt on the Ivoprop is about 3" different from the tip... the tips "lean" into the stand so you are looking a 7" from center of the prop hub to the stand. that also affects where the cage goes. get your prop soon if you don't have one because the price is going up. measure the blade divergence to verify what you actually have

Hi thanks for the information and advise. I will be waiting on the prop as our Canadian dollar is not good to the US. Hope the rate gets better.
I have built it to the dimensions of the twin as the plans stated. It is to be only minus 42C with out the wind tonight so will be staying in out of the garage for a few days yet.

Thank you Bryan, I am putting together a great group of which this will be among many projects. There is one of your big commercial 24s operating in town on the bay. I have yet to try it out but have many things developing at once right now. Keeps me busier than a one-armed paper hanger. Thank you for your quick reply.
