An advantage of horizontal lift fans I never realized till recently

I was out hovering on a fairly narrow river that is shared with jet boats. I was with two other hovercraft. They were hugging the shoreline leaving room for jet boats to pass (we were traveling fairly slow). I realized after hovering for a bit that some hovercraft designs don't allow you to see behind easily which might force a person to hug the shoreline even when there is no one around (which was the case for most of the day). With the Vanguard design, it is very easy to see behind you. If you sharing your local water ways with other vessels, then this may be something you should consider in picking what you want to build.
