Panels H7 & H15

Post by highlandhovercraft » March 29th, 2012, 9:03 am

On panels H7 & H15 it shows ply inserts for the hard points that the skirt extesion arms & the retaining wires bolt to. Are these hard points replaced with the milled glass putty as per other hard points? Also if the ply is replaced with the putty are they still the same size & shape or are they round hardpoints?

These panels are my next panels to make, as I am making all the long panels as I have laid boards on the building jig, so I can keep the panels flat & true while making them.

Milled glass hardpoints would be fine. Add extra glass in these areas too. Round points say 1 1/4" would be fine. Use 5/16" hardware for these parts.

Be certain your cables can handle a 1000 lbs. I built a jig that uses a torque wrench to test each cable because of crimp issues.

Note the plastic bearing added and 5/16" hardware.
