I think they've all been twins. I haven't heard of any singles, Sandy.

Unless you had in-flight variable props, a twin-engine would be advantageous with the ability to use differential thrust to help maneuver in tight quarters. Plus, you can operate on a single-engine in an emergency.

The only Mariners I know of are in:
Brazil
Fairbanks, Alaska ....been up for sale on-and-off the past couple years
Southwest Florida .....Sevzilla picture folder on Sevtalk yahoo group, under construction last I heard
I think India
I think there was one built in NW Washington, but of questionable build quality

Bryan or Barry would have a better idea of what might be out there.

I have a set of plans for the Mariner and the Vanguard.
I plan on building both machines with single engines.

I'm waiting for ecomotors to build my diesel engine.

Yeah, the ecotec & ecoboost engines with their direct injection and variable valve timing have really managed to crank out the HP in a small package! There are some airboats going together here in FL with those engines in lieu of the Cadillac big blocks. I'm on the lookout for one to see how it does. An all-alloy diesel version would be fantastic!
